Thomas Heberer, in this live production, mentally and technically at the height of his previous career, develops the quarter tone passages used sparingly on his trumpet special construction as organically from the moment as if they were always at home in jazz. His sound diversification - between New Orleans growls and classic beauty iridescent - has hardly unparalleled in the current scene.
